Was born around three decades ago at a place not too far away from the one depicted in the picture above - on the banks
of backwaters of Dal Lake in Kashmir .
Surrounded by open fields, a serpentine brook, trees of all sizes- with snow peaked mountains & the Shankaracharya
Hill providing the back drop- I was lucky enough to be very close to nature.
Observing hoopoes, wild crows, bulbul, kingfishers, myna, cuckoo, ducklings, river fish etc was fun !
So was watching the snow flakes dancing their way down to the the earth !
I also discovered how by keeping one's gaze fixed while watching the snowfall, one can be transported into a upward
journey ! That was much before I learnt about Newton's principles of relative motion.
Almost heaven, West Virginia,
Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River.
Life is old there,
older than the trees,
Younger than the mountains, blowing like a
breeze.
Country road,
take me home
To the place I belong,
West Virginia, mountain momma,
Take me home, country road...
